Socials, workshops and team nights
Class teaches you the steps. A social is where they get used. RW First Friday Socials, weekend workshops and bootcamps, and salsa team nights for groups all happen on the wood floor at The Dance Loft, with Rodrigo and Wendy in the room.
Chapter one
RW First Friday Socials
The social is the other half of the cycle. You spend eight weeks learning a pattern in a room of people your own level, then you walk onto a floor where the music is live to the moment and the partners keep changing.

A First Friday opens with an intro lesson, so nobody walks in cold. A short lesson comes first, then the lesson ends and the social dancing begins. If you have taken one class or ten, the order of the night keeps you from standing at the wall wondering how to start.
Past socials have featured DJ Urbane and a special performance by the RW Salsa Team, and free parking was part of the last flyer. Cover is listed per event on the Square store, and it has been $20 for recent socials. Dates are posted there and on the Punchpass calendar, so check both before you plan your Friday.
| First | An intro lesson that teaches the night’s pattern from the ground up. |
|---|---|
| Then | Social dancing with a DJ, on the studio’s wood floor. |
| Sometimes | A performance, like the RW Salsa Team’s showcase at past socials. |
Birthday-bash socials show up on the Square store too, listed alongside the regular nights. Not sure you are ready? Start with a Level 1 class and come to the social when you have a few weeks behind you.
Chapter two
Weekend workshops and bootcamps
The weekly classes run Monday to Thursday evenings. Workshops and bootcamps are for the weekend, when you can give a few hours to the floor instead of one. They are listed separately from the 8-week cycles.
Topics, times and prices are posted on the calendar and the Square store as each one is scheduled, which is why this page does not hard-code them. If you want a workshop built around your own group or a specific skill, ask. Rodrigo and Wendy also teach private lessons for a focus that a group room cannot give you.
Dancers of all ages
The studio’s own words for who comes: kids discovering their first steps, and adults mastering advanced partnerwork. Class times for younger dancers are not posted online, so call (704) 449-8112 and tell Rodrigo or Wendy who you have in mind.
Salsa On2 breaks on the 2. So do we.
Chapter three
Student teams and team building
The RW Salsa Team
Student teams are part of the studio, and the RW Salsa Team is the one that gave a special performance at a past First Friday Social. Ask Rodrigo or Wendy how teams work and who they are looking for. Read what students say on the reviews page.
Corporate salsa team building
A team that dances together for an hour learns a lot about each other, mostly by laughing. Rodrigo and Wendy run salsa team building for companies, and one group wrote about it on Google, five stars:
My coworkers and I did a salsa dancing team building experience and it was an absolute blast. The instructors made the dances so accessible. We all learned a lot, laughed a lot and left more connected with great memories.
Group pricing is not posted, so call or send a message with your headcount and the date you have in mind. If you would rather host your own event in the space, the studio rental page covers what the room offers.
