Salsa On2, bachata and tango classes in Charlotte

Most of what Rodrigo and Wendy teach runs in 8-week progressive cycles. Each cycle follows a set syllabus and builds from the very first step, so you do not need a partner and you do not need to have danced before. You start on day one with everyone else, and by week eight the room is moving as one.

This page is the whole menu in one place: how the cycles work, the level ladder for salsa and bachata, the weekly schedule, and every price exactly as it appears on the studio’s Square store.

How an 8-week cycle works

A cycle is a block of eight weekly one-hour classes that teach one level in order. Each week builds on the one before it. Because the syllabus is fixed, the class you take in week six assumes you took weeks one to five, and that is exactly why a cycle can move so much faster than a stack of unrelated drop-ins ever could.

Two rules keep a cycle honest. You start on the first day of the cycle, and there are no drop-ins once it is under way. That is not about gatekeeping; it is about the person next to you. Everyone in the room has learned the same steps in the same order, so partner work stays comfortable and nobody is left guessing.

No partner is needed. Come on your own or bring a friend; one student wrote that she made a great friend in her first cycle. Read how Rodrigo and Wendy got here in our story of Rodrigo and Wendy, or go straight to the full syllabus pages for salsa On2 and bachata.

Salsa On2 breaks on the 2. So do we.

The level ladder

Salsa has four rungs and bachata has three. Pick the rung that matches where you are today, and move up when the cycle ends. If you are unsure, start at Beginner; the teachers would rather you feel the floor under you than guess.

Your first night

Arrive for the first class of the cycle, because that is the one that starts the count. Come alone or bring a friend; either works, and nobody is expected to know anyone. Rodrigo and Wendy teach most of the classes themselves, so you learn from the studio’s owners.

The studio is The Dance Loft at 756 Tyvola Rd Ste 734, with wood flooring, mirrors and parking. Past students often mention the welcome before the dancing; one reviewer called the room “welcoming and chill to hang out with.” Google rates the studio 5.0 from 122 reviews.
